Almond Cherry Oatmeal

Almond Cherry Oatmeal

  • 1 cup pitted chopped Bing cherries
  • 1-3 tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp chia seeds (optional)
  • 1/3 cup toasted slivered almonds
  • 2 TBSP honey or maple syrup (plus more to taste)
  • 1/8 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

  1. Pit and chop your cherries. Set some apart for garnish.
  2. bring 1 3/4 cups of water and kosher salt to a boil. Stir in 1 cup of rolled oats and 1 cup of chopped pitted cherries. Stir to combine.
  3. reduce warmth and simmer, uncovered, for five mins, stirring on occasion.
  4. eliminate the pan from the warmth. Stir within the honey or maple syrup, and stir within the almond extract 1 tsp at a time, and taste. upload more by way of the tsp on your liking. identical is going for the honey or maple syrup.
